Why have I done this…

Approximately 10 years ago I had a seizure, the first I knew of it was when woke up I hospital 5 days later to find that my tongue was massively swollen and had been stitched and tube sticking out of my right lung where the blood had pooled… I was lucky that somebody was with me… I have had numerous seizures since but I now live alone and they are quite scary and worrying… they leave me feeling very weak and in pain where I have fallen and struck things and the floor…

Since this happened, I have developed Agoraphobia (a fear of going out…) I live above a Tesco in Leeds UK and sometimes I struggle to pluck up the courage to go and get a pint of milk and have to get it delivered which comes with a delivery charge on top of the price of the milk… I’ve not worked since 2023 as I just cannot cope with getting there and a simple daily commute… luxuries are few and far between, so getting something delivered by Amazon regardless of how little it costs is a big thing for me…

I rely on Amazon to try and be “normal” but they keep on letting me down by leaving my parcels in the communal area of 36 flats which I struggle to get to and when I do they’re usually gone!! (it’s like me putting your delivery in the middle of your street Mr Amazon and saying it’s been delivered…) Or they leave it outside my door without even knocking…

When this regularly happens, I have to wait 48hrs in case somebody picked it up by mistake and gives it to me (Yeah Right Mr Amazon like that’s gonna happen…) and then call Amazon so they can email me a form asking for information they already have about the order:

Todays date:

Description of the item:

They also can see the picture of the item in the communal area or outside my front door!!!

There are many people that suffer with conditions like mine and even worse that look forward to that little bit of joy that receiving a parcel/package that we’ve saved up for and looking forward to receiving or gifting to friend or a loved one…

On one occasion my parcels were left in the communal area and it took me 20 minutes and immense pain and 2 trips to collect them which would normally be less than a minute’s worth of effort as I’d had a recent seizure… My flat was buzzed and I said I’m on the 1st floor, I like to greet the driver and offer them a drink or snack but no one came so I had no choice but to go myself…

I have now taken to refreshing my email every 30 seconds when I am expecting a delivery from Amazon just so I can see where it has been left, this is complete waste of my TIME and indeed LIFE Amazon… I spoke to one of your Team Leaders who mentioned several times that you are a “Global” brand so you can’t deal with specific individual issues so have a blanket approach to resolving issues… Amazon you’re only a global brand because of people like us…

Amazon will lose or have stolen 22,000 parcels today alone at a cost £1.7 billion a year just in the UK (161,000 in the USA and globally who knows??) that’s 22,000 people and their friends and families who will be left disappointed, frustrated, let down and like me angry in the UK alone. The global stats are eye-watering we’re talking £BILLIONS A YEAR

This has to stop and I know just exactly how but do you Mr Amazon? (I’ve done the job… PROPERLY…) I’m not here to ruin you or your business but I am here to expose you and your failings that go unpunished every day… I have no idea/interest in what you are looking for in space but maybe you should fix the catastrophic amount of F’ups you’re doing on this planet first?? I’m 100% sure that you’re fully aware of the online content by your ex and probably current employees about how shit it is to work for Amazon… but you just don’t give a fuck!! Just the same as you don’t give a fuck about the families that lost loved ones working for you… “call security” if someone is having a heart attack… seriously are you for FUCKING for real Amazon!! From what I gather 17 people have died working for you, more than double of that at Walmart… You say your warehouses are too big for 911 to attend? If I was having a heart attack I know who I’d want a colleague to call… If you we’re to have one Mr Amazon would you want me to call? rent-a-cop?? Not only do I have the answer to your delivery F’ups but I have the answer to this one too Mr Amazon but do you???

I’m calling you out to answer for the abject misery, disappointment and most importantly heart wrenching losses that you could have prevented if you’d only done the right thing by people… I read that one of your staff members died having had a cardiac event so the other staff built a makeshift barrier around him and carried on working…

What is going on in your head Mr Amazon?!?! I still have no idea what the F you’re looking for in space and to be honest I hope it fails just the way you fail us all day everyday… but then again maybe you will discover a conscience up there before more people suffer and indeed die because of you…

Time is finite Mr Amazon and you are wasting too much of ours as customers and not giving your employees enough of it…

I have been living with seizures and agoraphobia (fear of going outside) for several years now. The seizures leave me feeling extremely tired and in pain for several days and the agoraphobia really limits what I can do.

I rely on Amazon to try and be “normal” but they keep on letting me down by leaving my parcels in the communal area of 36 flats which I struggle to get to and when I do, they’re usually gone! Or they leave them outside my door without even knocking…

When this happens, I have to wait 48hrs in case somebody picked it up by mistake and gives it to me which has never happened and then call Amazon so they can email me a form asking for information they already have about the order:

They can also see a picture of where the parcel was left!

On one occasion my flat was buzzed and I said I’m on the 1st floor, I like to greet the driver but no one came so I had no choice but to go myself. my parcels were left in the communal area and it took me 20 minutes, 2 trips and extreme pain to collect them which would normally be less than a minute’s worth of effort as I’d had a recent seizure…

I have now taken to refreshing my email every few seconds when I am expecting a delivery from Amazon just so I can see where it has been left. It’s very time consuming and tiring. On some occasions the drivers don’t update the status until later in the day and then it’s too late…

Everyday Amazon will lose or have stolen approx 22,000 parcels in the UK, 161,000 in the US and 1.6 million globally that’s a lot people and their friends and families who will be left disappointed, frustrated, let down and like me angry!!

I can use the internet to an average standard so filling in the information they need is fine and I can communicate just fine on the phone when I need to speak to them but what about people who struggle with technology or have communication difficulties??

In my eyes it is a “crime” on massive scale that goes unpunished every day and we are the ones that are the victims and pay the price on a colossal scale. Our precious time being stolen from us and we can’t get it back!! Please share your experiences on here and encourage your friends and family to do so too and let’s get heard collectively and demand a far better service…
